Questions & answers
Privacy, formats, voices and limits of Talking Photos.
What is Talking Photos?
An editor that brings a photo to life: you place cartoon eyes and a mouth on it, write a short dialogue, and the service voices the lines and builds a vertical or square MP4.
Do I need an account?
Not to try it: a guest builds one draft stored in the browser. Speech and export need an account — sign up with email and password or sign in with an email link. After signing in the draft moves into your account; confirm your email via the link we send.
Who can see my photos and videos?
Only you. Photos and clips are private: storage is closed, ownership is checked on every request, download links are short-lived. Nothing is published automatically.
What is sent to Google?
Only line text and voice settings — and only if you pick the Gemini engine. We show a notice before the first cloud synthesis. Photos are never sent to Google. Supertonic runs on our server and sends nothing out.
Is HEIC supported?
Not yet — we accept JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 15 MB. Save the photo as JPEG or PNG. EXIF data and geo tags are removed during processing; orientation is respected.
How long is a skit and how many characters can I add?
One to four characters (the third and fourth with PRO), at least 2 lines, up to 240 characters per line, pauses up to 2 seconds. The duration comes from the speech and pauses — 5 minutes max.
What is the difference between Supertonic and Gemini voices?
Supertonic voices are free on every plan, with a plain delivery: lines sound even, and you don’t pick emotions or delivery for them. Gemini voices come from the Google cloud with emotions and delivery (“indignant”, “joyful”, “whisper”, “sarcastic”); they are part of PRO and paid with tokens. On the free plan you can listen to Gemini samples and pick them once you go PRO. If Gemini is unavailable, it is shown disabled with the reason.
What are tokens?
The service’s internal currency. On PRO, tokens pay for the “Write a dialogue” assistant (2 tokens) and Gemini voices (1 token per 150 characters of a line). Supertonic voices, preview and MP4 export are free. Tokens are charged only for a successful result. PRO adds 600 every month, and token packs can be bought on any plan. Studio costs 1 token per dialogue line in a freshly rendered clip. Reused cached clips are free.
Is the video auto-published to social networks?
No. You download the MP4 and decide where to send it — TikTok, Shorts, Reels or a friend in a messenger. No auto-publishing or account linking.
What if I edit a line after synthesis?
The changed line is marked "needs new speech" — other recordings are kept. You can re-voice just that line.
How do I delete my data?
A skit or a hero is deleted on its page, the whole account in your profile ("Delete account"). Everything goes: skits, heroes, files; unfinished jobs are cancelled.
Easier to just try it
